Community & Technical Assistance

Current Assistance Available

Southeast Conference’s goal is to support its communities and members in pursuing their own goals through providing technical assistance programs and other forms of community assistance as funding allows. SEC understands that many small rural communities do not always have the capacity to apply for funding and carry out large scale projects and is constantly looking for opportunities that better enable SEC to support communities throughout the region. 

Below is a list of current technical assistance programs available. If you need help with a project that you do not believe fits into one of the categories below, do not hesitate to reach out to see if there is a way SEC can be supportive.

Arctic Energy Ambassadors
Do you need help with an energy project in your community? This program can help! The Arctic Energy Ambassadors program will provide training and support to develop regional energy leadership in the state for selected, experienced practitioners (“Energy Ambassadors”) to improve energy security across Alaska’s Arctic region and beyond. Through deployment of energy projects and support for grant applications and technical assistance, the U.S. Department of Energy is delivering resources and partnership for the Arctic region, aligned with the DOE Arctic Strategy. Small Business Energy Assessment & Assistance Program
Funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Renewable Energy Development Assistance (REDA). Supported by the USDA Rural Energy for America Program’s (REAP) Renewable Energy Systems & Energy Efficiency Improvement (Next round of applications will be open from July through September 30, 2025). Southeast Conference’s Energy Assessment & Audit Program provides small businesses a pathway to low-cost energy audits and grant assistance to reduce energy use and associated costs.  Energy costs represent a significant cost for small businesses.
